Carson's statement this morning after our ride yesterday at Silver Star. My son is amazing... children really have no fear. He would fall and get right up... Did superstar 3.5 times...

Last thurs and fri we took Lyric to school in the morning and picked her up on Fri and had her over for a playdate until Craig came at 5. So cute those two... I swear we might as well send out the invitations now lol...

Fri night was our 11 year anniversary, that I forgot....oops. We went to the firehall for a baby shower and saturday we went to Noah's 3rd birthday.

We watched the new Xmen movie... and on TV Ryan has been watching alot of American pickers, Storage Wars and Myth Busters.... Carson enjoys these shows too....

School Shopping

We did some clothe shopping in Vancouver for Carson. Went to our favorite store in Pacific Centre, H&M, what a waste of time, not our favorite anymore. So we went to Metro Town to hit Old Navy and try to get Carson some DC shoes also. First thing we say at Old Navy was the colourful, skull hoodie, C was in love lol.... It was interesting watching Ryan, he gets quit involved when it comes to picking out shirts and pants for Carson LOL... and NO freakin skinny jeans ALLOWED!

We didn't have any luck with DC shoes in his size so I took him when we got back into town on Tuesday. Got him two pairs, he's happy now ;)

Got back from vacation Monday night... what an amazing time. Carson wanting to move to Whistler and asked why can't we just stay longer... We couldn't agree more buddy. Already planning to just stay in Whistler the whole time next year and we were talking about how we could start saving for the extra cost of the hotel!

Carson: "I don't like travelling much, right Mom" Do you?
Me: Well buddy it gets us to the fun stuff right.
Carson: ya, we don't like sitting in the small places, but it gets us to where we want to go... so...

He says "So" alot at the end of a statement and "right Mom, or right Daddy"

I went back to work today after two days of laudry, unpacking and repacking for camping this weekend and trying to go thru photos and ideas to start my Project Life. The vacation album is a family affair this time, with Carson and Ryan contributing... wish me luck!

fun, fast, bumpy

I felt excited going up on the gondola. Then we went to the bike park... skills centre. The instructor taught us to balance on the ramps. The snake trail was easy. put all your weight forward on the teater before you roll forward and then go forward. The easy does it trail was easyish to me. I fell once off the camel humps, but got right back on.

When we picked Carson up at 3:30 he looked happy but exhausted... that didn't last long though lol. of course

Biking with parents the next day...

Carson just had to take his parents to the bike park, so we geared up and rode the gondola to the bike skills park. He showed us how he could ride everything in there including the smaller teeter.

Riding down the trail with my two boys infront of me was a very happy moment for me. This is it, this is the life I created and I love it!

Carson had struggles on the second half of the trail and was crying a bit and frustrated that he had to walk in two spots, but he made and down and to our surprise wanted to go right back up again. Well I have to say I was very proud of him! He pushed thru his struggles from the first time and rode those two spots he had to walk the first time. He was proud of himself and buddy, we were/are super proud of you two!

Vacation

Getting ready to leave for Whistler after work today.... Weekend was busy with fun and chores. Carson had Ashley over for a sleepover... first time he's had a friend over now that I think bout it... put them to bed at 9:30 then finally at 11ish they were asleep. A couple of times before that I thought they were but then they got up to pee... they were getting tricky and whispering.

We had Barb and Tony over for dinner Sunday, Ryan did appies. We all went to the backyard while the boys/kids (neighbour girls joined us) play with the RC trucks on the track that Carson, Ryan and Dad made... I'll have to tell that story another day.

Went for my Sat morning girls ride today, but had to use a demo bike cause they weren't finished serving mine yet. Was a good ride, but hot today. Carson has Ashely over tonight for a sleep over. He's really having a hard time listening to us lately and it's really getting to Ryan and I. Getting ready for our family vacation to Vancouver and Whistler next week... can't wait.

Went to pick up Carson from my sisters and they were getting ready to go camping, so.... all the way home Carson was begging to go... I thought maybe I could leave from work on Friday but I was just too busy when we got home to pack and metally get around going. Laundry, creating flowers for KG class and dinner etc.. the night flew by. I just couldn't pull Carson away from his Dad and Papa working on the new truck in the hobby room last night, so it was after ten before he went to bed... He doesn't know why he created on his truck like he did LOL.... just started taping the holes.....picture to come

This would be a great place to post my daily thoughts for my project life... less paper!

Yesterday I worked at the shop... what a frustrating day... I hate giving up my Wednesday to go, it's even harder in the summer to have Carson give up one of his rare days at home! I didn't get home till 4pm. But he was very happy to spend part of the day with Lyric and Aria.

Went for the chick ride, didn't want to, but was really glad I did. I get up those hills like a goat and alot of the girls were amazed... I'm slow and steady and strong is what they say. Made me feel good. We had burger and beers at Union to end the spring/summer season... Fall riding will start the week after school starts back up. I'm actually looking forward to crosscountry skiing for season two!

It's amazing how good cleaning the closet feels. I boxed summer clothes, throw away, gave away and hung up the remaining clothes on new hangers! Well my clothes got new hangers, I re-used the big white ones (but all the same) for Ryan's shirts for now.

My inner Dawn and Cheryl were giddy and I have already taken the donation bags with the hangers to Value Village! Fly Lady would be so proud!

Carson is getting so expressive with his face and tone of voice. Doing that looking up trying to make a concern face and using my words, like "deal" and "okay" and "sound fair" How about when he laughs and slaps his knee, head back: "that's funny mom"

He's a Gun boy... can't stop it... Totally into Star Wars right now. He's been playing the game for awhile now and watched the first movie last week. I picked up two Light Savers and Ryan and Carson were playing last night.... sounds were of course including in the playing.

Excuses excuses..... My laptop has been in and out of repairs or the wireless just not working for so long and I hate being stuck in the office.... I'm using Ryan's now and I'm not going to find anymore excuses.

Carson's at preschool and I've just finished mowing the lawns. Mom and Dad have left and I have had a hugh itch to start scrapbooking. Started Cathy Z big picture class and I am working on a week in my life today. No excuses I'm getting it done..... I want to get it done.

Now I have 30 mins before I pick up Carson, the BEN 10 obsessed 4 year old.

Wow what an expierence on many levels.....

Travelling - well have all I can say is my flights were with American Airlines, need I say more. I now can say I'm an experienced one now...

Event - I'm not good with words anyway so trying to explain this last week would be impossible, but I sometimes forgot to call home and I didn't go outside for a full 48 hours LOL...

Women - the teachers were unbelievable, and the students were fabulous.... but Bill takes the cake!

was such a great little helper. Started with wanting to make the salade of course he wanted to "chomp chomp" everything. We quickly had him settle for putting all the cut up pits into the salade bowl.

After I put the plates on the table he proceeded to add the forks (no knives needed it was fajita night) and said everyone's name as he went to their spots...

Mommy, Papa, Nana, Aunty (shannon) Daddy and me...

followed by the salt and pepper and dressings....

Then juring dinner he asked each and everyone one of us

'would you like more Papa, nana.... well you get the idea....

How's your dinner.... so on.... so sweet so polite and we just soaked it all in....

I think I need to create a page about things that are going on inside me. I have this picture of me with my eyes closed and I want to use that and explain how part of me doesn't want to be constantly remined my Mom lost her breast..... I just want to live behind my closed eyes. Selfish, probably, but it's how I feel.... Now that she has survived, it's about the living afterwards. Don't even get me started about how I feel about chemo and/or radiation....

I haven't really cried since Mom's been diagnozed. But this morning at 5 am when I said goodbye to my aunt, I just held on and the tears came..... My aunt said my Mom was lucky to have such amazing daughters. I hope I can give her enough!

I am having a really hard time with the fact my Mom chest is missing a breast. I have a hard time looking at the void.... my stomach does flip flops.

I hope she doesn't get the same feelings!

Man I hope that Ryan and his partner just take the leap and go on the own 100%.... I'm so tired of MY life being on hold cause his freakin partner has no balls..... Life is too short working too much for too long.

Going camping this weekend. I think it's our last. Best thing we every did was rent that site for the year!

I love the age Carson is at right now. I actually find myself wanting to stay at home more and more. Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with my little man before, but have never wanted to be a stay at home Mom. Maybe I just want to be there cause we can do stuff together and I can still get stuff done and not get SOOOO frustrated with him. Now I'm not going to lie I'm thinking the "fun" stuff and well as the "have to" stuff.

Roxy's and I started Beginner L2 dog training. She does well on the stuff I work on with her, but I need to "heel" with her more and start really practicing on the "in front" downs..... We are also start agility training on Oct 6th.

Anyway just wanted to babble....

this will be the day my Mom has one of her breasts removed. On Aug 24th we found out my Mom has breast cancer..... when did we become one of the stats. Don't know how I feel except relieved right now...

Relieved because...

1) it was found out in the very early stages

2) it could have been much worse as she hasn't had a mamogram since 1991, yes that the nineteen century LADIES go get your BOOBS squeezed in that machine.

3) she doesn't have to have radiation or chemo!

Okay I'm also Freaked out because...

1) my Mom, Carson's Nana is the ROCK... so now

2) she smokes, drinks and doesn't eat properly.

More to come I'm sure.

it's FAMILY time

We had a reunion of family it seemed last week....

It all started with having Ted (my cousin who married Ryan and I almost 7 years ago) and his wife Deb and their four kids came to visit. We had them over on Wednesday and made them dinner. How wonderful to get to know them again! We had a really good visit even with us ALL in the house oh and my sister and her family joined us also!

Then on Sunday afternoon we went to my cousin Tammy's for a bbq cause a 2nd generation cousin was out from Winnipeg.... he's 23 now and the oldest kid of all us cousins..... so there are 8 boys and only 1 girl, my niece Montana! At one point all the boys were in the carport and it looked like the outsiders.... I took a picture of course. By the end of the day there was the rought housing and alot of them ended up in the pool! Got some GREAT photos.... I'll be busy tonight downloading.....

Well it's summertime and the camping has begun. I'm really enjoying the trailer parked at Little Dipper. I have lots of photos of course but I'm not home to upload them. I wanted to store a little something Carson said to Daddy the first weekend.

Ryan took the trailer up as we followed with Ginny and Lyric to start our week vacation.

After helping us set up for the first time, we were relaxing around the fire before Ryan had to head home to work the next day. I said to Ryan you should probably start preparing Carson for your departure.

the building bug! Ryan's been bugging me for years to build and I would have nothing to do with it, I mean I wouldn't even talk about it.

Now I can't stop talking about it..... I have a few people feeding this nasty beast too: Dad, Cheryl the Bank.....

I did 7 and 1's yesterday repeat four times for a total of 28 mins running. Cheryl and I thought before hand that we truely wouldn't make it. We so underestimated our bodies abilities. I have to say that we both did well and our next run is Wednesday morning! Go girls Go....

Getting our trailer ready for camping this weekend! Leaving Thursday night and coming home late Saturday afternoon, so we can spend two days in the yard! We were so torn on what to do, so I said we have to, no NEED to do both, so Ryan's busting his hump at work and Mom, Dad and I are getting everything else ready to go! Great team work I'd say! I'm spoiled by my parents, I admit it and I think they are truely the only reason I do more that survive with Ryan working so much!

Cheryl and I made our first running meeting and get this... we even planned our next run at the end. Huge, giagantic, leaps and bounds.

It was a beautiful day, and Stephanie wasn't too hard on us! LOL. I like her and her style. She doesn't just do the running part, she stretches and does resistance training after.

Then silly me went for a walk with Tara up to the dam to get the dogs excersiced and Mr C wanted to be pushed in the stroller. I'm sore already. Probably not a good thing! Maybe I should go soak in the tub!

Cheryl I think I might be doing my run on Friday's lunch hour! LOL

Okay I have to go finish the dishes... a little late tonight, but Roxie and I had puppy class.

Baby Steps

Well I've been taking a few baby steps with my journey of organized and clean house. At first I was REALLY overwhelmed and wanted instant gratifications, but with my Mom's help and some time (and better sleeps!) I'm feeling better.

I went back to the FLYlady website. Gotta love that place. But again I want it all and right now. So I have to talk myself down and remind myself of the babysteps!

Last night I put away Ryan and Carson's laundry (of course left mine!), shined my sink, emptied my bedside drawer full of NOTHING people absolute JUNK!!!!! And we are short SPACE in our house so this is a VITAL thing! Oh yeah I threw away 7 belts and 6 pairs of shorts. AND then I made myself go to bed and read a FUNG SHUI book I found in my clean up process on Sunday!

and I PUT AWAY MY WORK CLOTHES I flung on the bed when I got home! LOL

so my last little babystep I'm very excited about is I joined a RUNNING CLINIC that starts tomorrow and I'm super excited to have a partner in crime!

was a blast! What an experience hangin with Ali and Donna. They were truly inspirational. Now I need to take a month off to CREATE, play and use some of the stuff I bought all our shopping extravaganza!

Donna likes Canadians, loves how she can say the word PENIS and we don't even skip a beat, or how we throw in the F bomb every once and awhile! LOL

We had a FULL four days. And we are shopping PRO's!

Lately I don't have it. It's weeks like this I don't think I'm cut out to be a Mom, let alone a Mom of more than one! I'm leaning more and more to just keeping our family as is!

I go by my gut most and of the time: and it hasn't let me down before. Mind you I'm not ready to have DH snipped yet either.....

Why do I find this difficult! Oh the pressure..... I told Ginny it will be a while as this will be hard for me as I'll want it perfect... LOL...

Ginny's reply: I don't care if you give it to her for her 1st birthday as a matter of fact you can just keep an on going album. Works for me....

Christmas

Christmas was great.

My son is an angel. He did amazing. Three days, full days, with no naps! We really had a nice paced, enjoyable Christmas morning and Carson loved to give the gifts just as much as he loved receiving them!

I have some film to develope next week!

Vizsla's

We need another dog, yes I knew it would come. Carson loves them and I miss having an animal in the house. It feels incomplete.

I thought I'd want another Ridgeback, but I think we're going to go for a Vizsla. Their similarities stop at their looks.

Ridgebacks are hound dogs described as

Aloof, Independant, Prey-driven, Aristocratic, Predatory (aloof was Chiana's middle name!)

Vizslas are a Sporting dogs, sporting dogs are described as

Companionable, Rugged, Sociable, Obedient, Athelic

Vizsla Temperament: Intelligent, obedient and easy to train (like the sound of that), gentle-mannered and affectionate, likes water.

Of course they need 45 to 60 mins a day of excersice but they are a smaller dog than Ridgebacks and I'd like to do agility with my new dog.

The Sale

Well we did it! We sold our stuff to the public. "We" meaning Tara and I!

Could have been worse, could have been better, but it's done and I feel pretty good about it!

Not today, and this morning I had a little pitty party. I just didn't want to be "ON" ya know!

Trying to get the incentive to get myself and Carson dressed to shovel the driveway, in between of course, laudry, tiding the house and oh yeah getting more stuff done for the craft show on Dec 2nd! (okay maybe a little pity party was left in me LOL)

Went to the store today.....

Played for awhile... okay became obsessed. It never fails when you go to do the final glue and stamp steps things don't end up in the same places...... arghhhh

Anyway I had fun. This is a MDF plaque. I embossed the Santa with a new trick I learned for non pigment ink. Stamp in Versa first then the ink (stazon for me this time) and get the powder on.

Oh I'm having so much fun creating with friends. So many ideas floating around I couldn't take claim on any of these as my own: I got the tile/coaster idea from Tara and Cindy. I borrowed these stamps from Cindy and the chalking idea came from Yolanda. These fruit coasters are me combining these techniques.

Full Week

argghhhh this is my full week of work. Once a month I dread this five day work week. I had nnnoooooo idea how lovely having Wednesday off to break up the week would be.

Carson and I do whatever we want on that day. If I want to craft all day and he wants to play in his room or watch TV, whatever I just let him cruise.

He usually does some colouring or painting with me. We usually go outside after lunch at which time I bring a magazine or book to read. Just anything outside of ROUTINE and clocks LOL , expect his nap, that I like to keep on track!

And if we venture out it's to the store,
or according to Carson the crap store,
to visit Gen.

I'll miss my Wednesday this week. My recharge the batteries week!

Halloween

What a great age Carson is at for this!

First we went to Cheryl's & Jason's on Saturday night for the kids party. What a party it was. They don't hold back on the props and games etc.... the kids had a blast. Here's me and my little date for the night!

Then on Halloween Ryan and U Craig took Carson door to door. He was out for about an hour. Trick or Treats and thank you's! We then met up with some others finished up and they came over for a bit. Next thing ya know it's 8:00 and time for bed. Phew another crazy night over LOL... till Christmas anyway.

The girl at work loved them, and said she will buy all her cards from me.... wohoo....

Funny story....

A lot of the ladies at the retreat (I won't name names you know who you are!) were giving me a hard time about always winning! Went back to when I won the lovely PINK tote at our last crop!

Well I won a couple of lovely prizes this weekend (thanks Gina and Yolanda).

The funny part to this story is then upon checking a few of my daily internet spots I had won 2 more prizes! Kelli's question on her blog and POTP draw!

I'm going to sell my cards in a garage/craft sale next month and I'm nervous! I love the idea of projects, I get lots done and on time, but what if they don't sell! I find it so hard to separate the personal side of the things I created! I was rubbin elbows with some pretty creative people this weekend so maybe I'll be okay. My LSS did have me produce a layout of the month for them, but maybe they were just being nice LOL....

Family Tree

I've been researching my family tree since 2000. I went to fill out my family tree in my wedding album and I couldn't do the basics! It was innocent enough at the time, but it is now a life long project!

I have a few good stories about how I found some living relatives and of course I have some GREAT pictures. I've been thinking a lot lately on how I'm going to put those into albums! I have scanned ALOT of photos but I also have the originals! I think I'm going to use the fancy corner punches on cardstock pieces attached those to the pages and then add the photos so they can be removed. That way if someone in the family objects, I have done anything to the photos! Now I just have to brainstorm about how I'm going to add the information!

It was really busy in the park, but hopefully we get some good pics! Dinner was great at Dar's and the kids had a great night. We played (and WE I mean as in Al and I and the kids) with the interactive"dance game" on the Xbox to work off dinner. I'll have to get some pics from Dar to share, it was funny!

I'm still not exercising, things have settled at work, I don't feel as frazzled, but I'm seeing a cycle here.... an up and down cycle!

But I am obsessed with stamps and cardmarking and I'm getting ready for a scrapping weekend for next week... hurray!

Getting together with my family on Sat for holiday dinner and we are going to meet at Mission Creek park for pictures.... I'm thrilled about that... it's been years since we've all been in pictures together.

I really need to figure out what they are.... I'm really struggling with work right now. I just don't want to be here and it's starting to make me miserable at home too. But I'm not making any effort to make a change or figure out what my options are. The big question that always comes to my mind is "are we having another child or not?" If so I don't want to change jobs.... but I don't know if I can wait that long..... argh I'm so frustrated and depressed!

Oh my.... Carson put on his spiderman backpack and grabed his new little lunch kit this morning.... where has my baby gone! And why is it as soon as kids get those backpacks on they have the cutest little walk. He walked so proudly, and had to go right into Nana's suite to show off.
